Fort Ancient Earthworks and Nature Preserve

 
Mission:

The mission of the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is to be the premier regional provider of interactive science learning experiences which enrich the lives of children and adults, enhance the quality of life in our community, and promote a broad understanding of the world. To preserve, protect, and enhance the Museum's anthropology, geology, paleontology, and biology collections, and to make these collections available for exhibition, education, and research purposes.

Volunteer Description:

Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks including educational programs for children, custodial, trail maintenance, gardening, landscaping, wood cutting/splitting

Length of Time to Run:

3 hrs for educational programs, the rest is according to the volunteer personal schedules.

Message:

Fort Ancient offers a variety of volunteer activities that will fit most everyone's interest and schedules. Educational volunteers are needed particularly from April-May and September-November, typically 3 hrs per school group. We also need volunteers to help with the garden, trail maintenance, landscaping and cutting/splitting wood that works with volunteer's personal schedule. Volunteers have free access to the museum for their entire family.

 

Franklin Area Community Services "The Pantry"

Mission:

Provide emergency assistance for essential basic needs to residents of Franklin, Springboro and Carlisle Ohio

Volunteer Description:

Food Pantry duties, retail rescue pick up and delivery to Pantry, assisting clients

Franklin Township, Warren County ­

Mission Statement:

Franklin Township is a rural township with 29,000 residents. We are dedicated to giving our residents great service while preserving our rural atmosphere.

Description 1:

Volunteers are needed to do data entry. Franklin Township has over 12,000 individuals buried in Woodhill Cemetery. Unfortunately, we just began computerizing our records in the last two years. We have a limited staff and need volunteer man power to assist in the entry of old cemetery records.

Volunteers Needed 1:

Weekdays from 9AM to 4:00 PM

Description 2:

Landscaping Assistance : Volunteers are needed to edge beds and lay down mulch in the Veteran's Memorial Garden area of Woodhill Cemetery. We will provide all the necessary equipment. Someone with landscaping experience is prefered.

Friends of Warren County Park District

Mission:

To support, improve, protect and preserve Warren County Parks for the use and enjoyment of this and future generations. To inform and educate the public about the unique qualities of Warren County Parks including the natural, geological, biological, cultural, historical and recreational features. To encourage individuals and groups to participate in a cooperative volunteer program to promote and improve the parks within Warren County Park District

Volunteer Description:

Volunteers are needed to help with landscape maintenance, nature programs, assist with 5K Fun Runs June, July, Aug, Sept, and grant writing.

Spring landscaping and gardening
